My memories,

they haunt me,

they make me laugh,

they make me cringe,

and,

each smile from the ex-actors

in the play of my life

might

be a smirk for something foolish I did

or

a grin for something I thought I hid…

or

maybe a bit of both.

A walk down memory lane may be

hard and difficult

but

when you stroll down

don’t

say ‘what ifs’ and ‘i should haves’

but say plenty of

next times and don’t do that agains.

Sometimes though,

one must look back

to

make sure bad scenes are not re-enacted

but

no dwelling on them…

no ‘if I only I didn’t’s

for

regret is just a waste

of

precious living time

because

life is meant to be lived

not

agonised over.
