GENERAL RULES

 

Ø    The competition is reserved for young people up to 35 years of age.

Ø      Participation is freeØ

Consistent with the cultural line chosen by the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region which on the occasion of the 600th anniversary of the end of the Patriarchate of Aquileia draws attention to the historical significance of this passage from the “Friuli homeland” to the dominance of Venicethe “Castello di Duino” Competition promotes an exclusively theatrical contest for a dialogue or monologue inspired by this story (characters, environments, Europe and the Sea).

” From the homeland Friuli to the Venetian domain: Europe and the sea, society and religion (destinies, characters, environments)

While referring to the facts of history, the theme can be treated freely by transfiguring history into artistic and literary narration

You can participate by sending a theatrical text (dialogue or monologue) max. 5 folders for a total of 10,000 characters including spaces. LONGER TEXTS CANNOT BE ACCEPTED.The texts must be received by March 5, 2020.

The texts must be in Italian: The texts CANNOT be evaluated in other languages, texts in a language other than Italian must be accompanied by an excellent translation.

The e-mail message must contain the participation form and the duly completed declarations.  The work must be sent as an attachment in word or rtf format. Submitting in a different format can be cause for exclusion from the competition  The works are delivered to the jury without the authors’ personal data in order to guarantee an impartial evaluation.

 

Award

The first three classified will participate free of charge in a mini-course of dramaturgical writing with a historical background reserved for them at the Laboratory of New Dramaturgies MateâriuM (San Daniele del Friuli Udine).

The same texts will be presented with stage reading in Trieste during the Literature and Poetry Festival on March 28, 2020

Authors will be awarded a cup and the text will be published.
